ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY

My scope, mount and pier are housed in a roll-off shed. This was made from an ordinary metal garden shed. Castors were fitted and these run on metal tracks allowing the shed to be pushed back when opened.
My observatory is in a "Red" zone (Bortle 6) indicating an area of high light pollution
The shed is mains wired through a conduit running underground and a furtther conduit carries a USB3 active repeater cable. A dehumidifier is installed.
The pier was made from an off-cut of a railway signal post and is concreted 600mm into the ground below. It is reinforced with a scaffold pole concreted inside the hollow post.
Closed circuit video security cameras monitor the shed and alarm systems are fitted.
